It Don´t Matter If You´re Black or White....or Quechua

After our last week in Cochbamba with no computer or internet, we are finally able to update or loving fans on our adventures at Hospital Viedma and the Burn Center. This experience has taught us all so much and given us the opportunity to practice medicine in a new and quite different environment.

Kim spent her last week in the ER. On her last day, she was given the hefty task of suturing an entire leg. She also witnessed a stomach pumping with charcoal.

Andrew spent his last week playing with kids in the CRIN and the burn center. He was able to unleash his inner child and bring a smile to the faces of so many children. We are quite sure that these kids wore him out for his travels through Peru.

Lauren started the week and in the ER suturing stab victims. She finished the week in the burn center, where she was able to do 2 skin grafts and suture up a leg. She left a lasting impression on the doctors and nurses there.

Tiffany was excited to finish her experience in labor and delivery where it all started. Dr. Farrel was kind enough to allow her to take pictures of both C'sections and natural births, and she now has an album that would gross out anyone with a weak stomach. From her experience here, she has decided to adopt.

We are all now begining our travels through Bolivia and Peru. We are excited to make our way back home to clean water, flushable toilet paper, and warm, humid air.

Superlatives of the Week

Most likley to break a toilet and call for backup...Kim

Most likely to marry Juana...Andrew

Most likely to be mistaken for a Brazilian...Tiffany

Most likely to get sick (again)...Lauren
